Grassed Waterway Project

FSH received a grant from the MD Department of Agriculture Water Quality Cost Share Program to install a Grassed Waterway, designed by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRSC), to eliminate erosion in the south field and to serve as a demonstration of how to properly  control erosion. We continue to follow practices recommended by the Harford  Soil Conservation District and NRCS.

Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay installed 450 native trees on either side of the Grassed Waterway. The native trees demonstrate how landowners can use native trees to create biodiversity and reduce runoff on their properties.
